Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson reveals his goal keeper, Edwin van der Sar has retired to consider its decision to change this season.
Van der Sar is making preparations for his fifth appearance in the Champions League final against Barcelona at Wembley Stadium next week.
Following the good performance, Van der Sar his teammates asked him to change his mind.
Former Fulham goalkeeper, Ajax and Juventus, however, ignored the appeal - but then he thought to continue the action before confirming earlier decision by United is now difficult to find a replacement.
Ferguson in the program notes for the match against the Seasiders writes: "Edwin has decided to retire at the peak of performance, even thought last week's volatility.
"He met me and informed me to change the decision.
"I told her was immediately made the decision because we are in the process to complete the agreement to get a new goalkeeper.
"He returned a few days later and said to stay with the original decision of retirement age and it is appropriate for him to do.
