Make a volley the ball is very interesting to discuss. However, every players need to learn the correct volleying technique. Volley the ball is not to use to score a goal but also to use to clear the ball from defence and to pass the ball to your team mates. So you are pointing at the ball with your shoulder. If any player wants to make a volley, we can see the hips and upper body turn naturally to follow the shoulder movement. After that, turn back again and pivoting on your non-kicking foot. Kick the ball on your return motion finishing with your right shoulder facing forwards.
If you want to kick the ball, you get your knee high and over the ball. Balance yourself with wide your arms to help you. Get your head down over the ball as well as using a high knee when the ball is close to you.
It is different if the ball comes from side (left or right), your body will usually lean away from the ball. But you shouldn’t try to get your head over the ball. Concentrate on getting your knee over the ball. So the ball will stay low.
Timing is important if we want to make a volley. We need practice this skill so hard. Avoid to snatch at the ball taking it too early. Let the ball drop to about halfway up the shin if you can.
