Lille France End Championship Drought Since 1954

France Lille won their first league championship since 1954 even forced a 2-2 draw by Cup finalists France, Paris Saint-Germain in a tense match on Saturday.

Following the victory over PSG in the Cup final last week, Lille only needed one point tocomplete the double championship success in both their history and they ensure thateven Mathieu Bodmer scored the equalizer for the hosts on 73 minutes.

Moussa Sow put Lille ahead 14 minutes before that, after the striker PSG, GuillaumeHoarau, and coach Antoine Kombouare both sent off at the Parc des Princes.

"During the season they were acting fantastic," said Lille coach, Rudy Garcia.

"They're a great group of players. When they met each other in 15 or 20 years, they certainly can share this special memory.
