Obertan Moves to Newcastle

Finally Newcastle United has been signed the former France U-21 international and Manchester United winger, Gabriel Obertan.  The news has been confirmed by Newcastle’s website.  Obertan joined Man United two years ago but he failed to make huge impact on Ferguson’s squad.

Obertan is joining the Magpies on a five-year deal.  Newcastle’s manager, Alan Pardew feels that Obertan has great pace and excellent technique.  Pardew think that Obertan has improved his power in the last 12 months and is ready now to make a real impact in the Premier League.

For Newcastle, this is the fifth French-born player to arrive at St James Park this summer following the signings of Yohan Cabaye, Demba Ba, Sylvain Marveaux and Mehdi Abeid.  Gabriel Obertan is 22 years old.
